Faculty Services: Library Instruction & Orientations

Library Instruction

JIBC Librarians provide a wide range of instruction sessions for students, faculty and staff.

You may not know it, but you NEED this information!

Sessions may be held in-person or online.  Sessions are recorded for those who cannot attend.

Examples of instruction sessions include:

  • Research skills  - find what you need efficiently and effectively.
  • APA Style - how to cite your sources accurately in-text and in your reference list.
  • RefWorks - learn how to organize your citations and create reference lists.
  • Subject-specific instruction - paramedicine, law, legislation, fire codes, and more!
  • eBooks and audiobooks - how to access and borrow.
  • set-up Alerts on topics.

Keep in mind we will customize, or add new topics, for individuals or groups.

Orientations

Library orientations are general overviews of JIBC Library services and resources.  These can be done in groups, or, on an individual basis.

Orientations introduce services such as accessing eResources, where to find eBooks and online articles, how to borrow books, DVDs and equipment, where to find study rooms, how to access the printer, and more!

COPYRIGHT:  Faculty and staff sessions also cover important information about copyright and adding readings to courses.
