Community Resources

There are a number of community resources that provide job-hunting and career advice.  These are located throughout British Columbia and across Canada.

Public Libraries

Public libraries often provide workshops on job hunting; and, also have specialized collections related to résumé-writing, interview skills, and career advice. For example:

Find a BC public library near you and ask them what they offer!

WorkBC

WorkBC offers support in employment services and work supports, such as writing a résumé or preparing for an interview.

WorkBC is located in many different regions of British Columbia.  Check with your local WorkBC Centre to see what services they offer.

You can also check out their Job Application Tips for hints on how to:

  • write a résumé
  • create a cover letter
  • prepare for job interviews
  • use social media in your job search

Government of Canada Job Bank
