What are Search Facets?

"Facets are filters but pertain exclusively to the results from a search. As they relate specifically to your query, you'll never find facets that are irrelevant or inconsistent with what is displayed."
Retrieved November 5, 2020 from The Definitive Guide to the Difference Between Filters and Facets

The results page for a search on compassion, shows the facets in the left column.
