About the Library

The JIBC Library has printers and computers available for students, faculty, and staff, and bookable study rooms for students.

Study Rooms

You can book a study room for up to 2 hours at a time and only within the same calendar week you intend to use the room.

To book a study room:

Study rooms cannot be booked for online test taking or other exams.

Staff, Faculty, and Field Personnel

Staff, faculty, and field personnel can use a study room if it is available but must leave the room if a student needs one. No pre-booking allowed.

Police instructors may book a study room for student mentoring sessions.

What’s Inside a Study Room?

Study rooms include a whiteboard, computer, and 40” monitor.

Ask staff about borrowing:

  • Whiteboard pens
  • Wireless keyboard and mouse
  • HDMI cable
  • USB-C to HDMI adaptor kit
  • DVD player

Other Study Spaces

You can find group study tables and individual study spaces throughout the library. Some of these spaces are reserved for charging personal devices.

Other non-bookable rooms in the Library include:

  • Silent Study Room. This room fits 8-12 people and contains two whiteboards.
  • Computer Lab. This room contains 5 computers and space for small group work

Printing

Students, faculty, and staff can print from any library computer, or from the print station.
Purchase or re-load a print card at the front desk.

  • Cash only
  • $1 deposit on card
  • 10 cents per page for black and white; 50 cents per page for colour

Use our desktop computers for research, assignment work, or to print. Login using your JIBC credentials.

Guests & Visitors to JIBC

Guests and visitors to JIBC can use the library space but do not have access to computers or printing and cannot book study rooms.
