AskAway is staffed by librarians at post-secondary institutions in B.C. During an AskAway session, a librarian will chat with you in real-time.
The JIBC Library has computers available for:
Conducting research
(catalogue, online article databases, internet).
Writing papers or creating presentations
(all computers have Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
In order to use our computers, users must sign in with their JIBC Student Number/Staff ID and password.
Library users can print and/or make photocopies on the self-serve printer/copier (single or double-sided).
Purchase a Copy Card at the Library (cash only):
10 cents/page for black and white
50 cents/page for colour
Cards are re-loadable
The JIBC Library has study rooms available for student use. These rooms:
If you wish to use any of the equipment in the room, stop at the Library Desk to borrow the wireless keyboard, mouse, and DVD/VCR remote.
Cables and adapters are available to connect your mobile devices to the monitor.
Please note: These rooms can be reserved in 2-hour blocks (within the week of the booking) in order to guarantee availability.
Rooms must be booked (at front desk, by phone or e-mail within the week needed)
Eduroam:
Eduroam is a global service that enables faculty, staff and students visiting other academic institutions to use their home academic institution's credentials to access WIFI. Visitors to JIBC can access this WIFI service at our campus if their home institution is a member.
To log on, use your credentials (eg: jdoe@jibc.ca).
Wireless:
Wireless access is available throughout JIBC. Username and Password are available at the Library Help Desk and at JIBC's Main Reception Desk.
