Library Instruction

JIBC Librarians provide a wide range of instruction sessions for students, faculty and staff. Sessions may be held in-person or online.

Student Instruction

Student instruction sessions can be customized to your students' needs or be tailored to an assignment. Sessions can range from 15-90 minutes. Examples of instruction sessions include:

  • Research skills - learn to search in the library efficiently and effectively.
  • APA Style - learn to cite your sources accurately in-text and in your reference list.
  • RefWorks - learn how to organize your citations and create reference lists.
  • Evaluation and types of sources - learn the ways in which we create and access information, and how to determine the best source for an assignment.
  • Subject-specific instruction - learn how to find and search in resources in your subject area.

Work with your liaison librarian to determine what instruction your students need.
