Finding Short Stories at the JIBC Library

Here is a quick overview of how to find Short Stories at the JIBC Library.

  1. Visit the Short Stories section in the Library (ask a staff member if you can’t find them). These are for ONE DAY loan – remember to return them on time so that your classmates have a chance to borrow them.
  2. Check the Short Stories Bibliography – this lists collections that are in the Short Stories section of the Library AS WELL AS collections that are in the regular Library stacks. The short story collections in the regular Library stacks are generally non-fiction and often fall into subject areas such as law enforcement, paramedicine, and, public safety. (The bibliographies are available in-print in the Library and online.)
  3. Find an eBook collection of short stories via Search Me

  • Refine your results.
  • Source Types – Show More - eBooks
  • If you have a specific author, or a specific topic, add it to your short stories keyword search.
    • For example, SHORT STORIES AND WOMEN
  • Perhaps change the Date Range
  • Limit your results to "Available at JIBC" in order to search within our collection
  • You can even refine by “type” of short story (e.g. American, English, historical period, etc
