LibCal Support for JIBC Staff: Outlook Integration

Introduction

After syncing your Outlook calendar with your LibCal account...

The appointments that students book with you in LibCal will automatically appear in your Outlook calendar. If your colleagues use Outlook to invite you to meetings, they will see that you are unavailable at those times.

To sync your Outlook with your LibCal, see steps below.

Outlook Integration

  1. Log into LibCal and go to Appointments.
  2. Click the Integrations tab.
  3. In the Outlook/Exchange Settings box, click the Authorize with Microsoft Account button.
  4. You might be taken to the sign-in page for your Microsoft account. Enter your Outlook username and password to log in.
  5. When prompted, click Yes to grant permissions for the LibCal app to read your profile and write events to your calendar.

Outlook Integration

6. You'll be taken back to your LibCal Outlook/Exchange settings. In the Outlook/Exchange Settings box, select the calendar to which you want to sync your appointments. The option called simply Calendar is your main Outlook calendar.

7. If you want LibCal to check your Outlook calendar to see when you're unavailable, set the Check Outlook/Exchange Unavailable Times option to Yes. This creates a two-way sync and prevents double-booking by blocking times in LibCal that conflict with your Outlook events.

8. If you would like the meetings created within Outlook for appointments to be set to the Private status, set the Set Created Outlook/Exchange Meetings to 'Private' option to YesNote: Outlook does not allow private meetings to be created in calendars that are being shared.

9. Click the Save Calendar button.
