RefWorks

Learn to use RefWorks, a web-based citation management tool.

From a Library Database

When you've found a helpful article, book, or other resource in a library database, you can export the citation information to RefWorks.

  1. Find the "Cite" button in the toolbar, either from the results list or on the item's information page.Screenshot of the open toolbar on the results page of an EBSCO search.   3. Click on "Export to RefWorks".
  4. RefWorks will open in a new browser window. If you are not already signed in to RefWorks sign in as usual.

From Google Scholar

  3. RefWorks will open in a new browser window. If you are not already signed in to RefWorks sign in as usual.

3. Upload Documents Directly to RefWorks

When you have documents of PDFs saved on your computer, for example a class reading or article provided by your instructor, you can upload these items directly to RefWorks. 

Simply click on the 'Add' button on the homepage of RefWorks and upload the item from your computer. Depending on the type of document, RefWorks will automatically fill in available citation information. 

1. Click the 'Add' button on your RefWorks account.
